Senior Lead Analytics Consultant - EADS

Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

Enterprise Analytics and Data Science (EADS) is seeking an experienced analytics professional to help manage the ongoing support of ATSC (Analytics Target State Capabilities) Teamspaces as well as the broader analytics community.  This Team Member is expected to be part of the strategy and roadmap, deliver work in progress, identify new requirements and support transition efforts to future state analytic environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate release planning and rollout of all product changes.  Take lead in supporting the unified analytics platform including SQL Server, Hadoop(MapR) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform including;

    • Comprehensive understanding of existing and exploration of next gen analytics tools supporting the analytics community.

    • Collaborate with Product and Account stakeholders to help define a progressive roadmap to GCP.

    • User Educational:  Understand the needs of the user to ensure business teams have a comprehensive library of information for effectively leveraging the analytics environment and tools.

    • Engage Wells Fargo Technology partners to ensure no gaps in support including developing new API business tools as necessary to bridge critical support.

    • Creating POC (Proof of Concept) working models within each environment using each of the delivered products and/or tools including; Playbooks, benchmarking metrics, regression testing, vendor/product owner engagement, etc.

    • Responsible for ongoing product releases and coordinate with testing and product team leads for implementations and enhancements.  Including documenting and prioritizing defects and enhancements

  • Consider needs and impact across multiple data environments and analytic work paths, from ad hoc to large-scale production solutions, from simple queries to machine learning; understand policies relating to analytic work and/or workspaces

  • Drive as primary stakeholder for POC Datamart implementation to meet the need for growing metrics, data QC, controls and BAU activities.

  • Build relationships and coordinate alignment with stakeholder teams across DMI and WFT including WFT’s Enterprise CIO Delegates, technology asset management, enterprise data management, DMI data strategy, DMI data governance – in support of a critical unified analytics platform.

This role has a high level of exposure to analytics and risk leadership across the Company as well as to partner organizations within and outside of DMI.  There is a significant opportunity to mitigate risk in current analytic activities, influence the future of analytics at Wells Fargo and gain exposure to some of the most innovative areas of analytics, technology and data management in the industry today.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Analytics and Reporting, Financial Modeling, Statistics, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of experience using various analytical tools such as Dremio, Tableau, Power BI, Python, etc.

  • 2+ years of experience in SQL including SSMS and SSIS/Integration Services

  • 1+ years of experience, or equivalent, working with Cloud (GCP) platforms

  • Experience with major database engines including Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Hadoop and big data.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Track record of delivering significant analytic, risk or operations value in a business functional role

  • Experience implementing organizational procedures, operations, and applicable compliance rules and regulations across a broad number of teams and processes

  • Familiarity with policies that impact analytics and analytic delivery around data strategy and policy

  • Broad familiarity with Wells Fargo data platforms

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Google Cloud Training Certification 

  • BS/BA degree or higher
