Tax Transformation Consultant

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant to support the Enterprise Customer Tax Utility group. This group helps Wells Fargo meet its regulatory requirements related to customer information tax reporting. The position is in the Business Integration Team, which focuses on adding new businesses to the Tax Utility support model.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead efforts to understand current state tax processes for various lines of business, develop a future state process utilizing the Tax Utility, and lead the implementation efforts
  • Design and conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality/integrity issues and to identify and remediate process/control gaps
  • Facilitate data mapping exercises with the businesses and their tech teams
  • Work collaboratively with teams of tax, operations, technology, and consultants

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding tax form validation, withholding and/or reporting
  • Experience trouble shooting or analytical skills to assess the problems in the tax reporting process
  • Process definition and documentation experience
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Ability to present to decision makers in a professional and confident manner
  • Ability to assess current processes/procedures and make recommendations for efficiency
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
  • Proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who values personal accountability and thrives under pressure in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • Drive to continuously improve processes for improved performance
  • Proven ability to gather and generate data as well as conduct relevant investigations where there are deviations from standards
  • Proven leadership, change management, process improvement and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing diverse relationships and foster a collaborative team dynamic with operations, business lines, PMO, Risk Management, Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wells Fargo policies, financial controls and risk
