Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist, Home Lending Trade Desk Support

Wells Fargo is seeking a Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist to provide operations support to the Home Lending trade desk. Members of this team perform a variety of functions in a collaborative environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with both Middle- and Back-Office Home Mortgage operational functions
  • Monitor trades to ensure capture and confirmation with counter parties according to deadlines
  • Participate in profit and loss generation and attribution for trading activity, while following internal and industry controls
  • Monitor and validate pools according to industry and investor guidelines
  • Identify opportunities to resolve complex confirmation and related trade issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade counter party operational support functions
  • Present recommendations for resolving derivative issues
  • Review new and amended trades, cash payments, customer pricing, collateral management, credit and general ledger reconciliation issues
  • Provide information to managers and the Capital Markets Middle Office
  • Identify potential risks and propose solutions

Individuals on this team must be willing to work onsite at the location listed. Due to the variety of tasks the team performs, there may be opportunities to work remote a maximum of 2 days per week. This schedule is subject to change at management discretion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous financial markets, trades, or related experience
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Microsoft Excel spreadsheets experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data for reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with internal and external partners
  • Flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to working different types of processes and/or schedules as needed
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative and work as a team to achieve business, production, and quality goals
  • Willing to proactively learn new processes and become cross-trained for additional responsibilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
  • Ability to interpret reports and identify inconsistencies
  • Experience presenting data and information in a clear and concise way

Job Expectations:

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo’s compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
