Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Executive Consultant as part of the Global Privacy Utility Team within the Chief Operating Office. This role will be an integral part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team to promote privacy governance and effective internal risk & control practices for the Global Privacy Utility and its supporting business lines. In this role, you will have administrative responsibilities such as:

  • Serve as a central point of contact for requests and inquiries.
  • Execute supporting activities, initiatives and practices for all applicable aspects of the GPU’s Governance.
  • Develop and maintain the inventory of sources of privacy risk
  • Develop intel and insights to drive compliance and continuous improvement; identify privacy risks; assess, measure, and prioritize risks.
  • Manage the GPU engagement model with stakeholders; Establish program governance and escalation protocols for management routines and stakeholder accountability.
  • Review regulatory and policy alerts against policy/procedures for impacts, internally monitor policy adherence to assure risks identified are adequately mitigated by control frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain Business Procedures for GPU.
  • Design solutions to support privacy risk management across the company.
  • Develop educational and awareness programs to increase adoption of policies and procedures, and to advocate privacy across the company.
  • Execute the design, development, implementation, and management of various initiatives related to emerging risks, regulatory change, and policy impacts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience or knowledgeable of practices related to delivering privacy and data protection, breach management or regulatory privacy projects or other similar work.
  • Experience with or basic working knowledge of at least some privacy program components and common supporting workflows, including but not limited to:
    • Privacy framework development.
    • Regulatory monitoring and regulatory change management.
    • Business requirements definition.
    • Policy, standards, process/procedure, guideline drafting and update.
    • Data inventory and information flow mapping.
    • Privacy risk management (assessment, observations, recommendations, roadmap, mitigation).
    • Interactions with consumers / individuals (data subject requests).
    • Incident management and breach notifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology, business, or related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • 6+ years of related work experience in an in-house privacy team, data privacy consulting or equivalent academic experience with a commensurate advanced degree.
  • Working knowledge of key privacy regulations, including but not limited to GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
  • Proven people skills: demonstrated thorough knowledge and/or a proven track record of success with operating in a banking or a financial organization.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate.

  • Keeps up to date with the Security and Privacy Industry – following the industry’s advancements, challenges, and discovery.
