The role is responsible for leading and managing a team of experienced regulatory reporting professionals. The role holder will be responsible for the overseeing the production and review of the Central Bank of Ireland (“CBI”) COREP and additional prudential returns.
The role holder shall partner with the FINREP & Statistical Regulatory Reporting lead and Change Lead to ensure accurate and timely reporting. In addition this team will support the Country Controller & the Senior Management team with wider strategic initiatives impacting the Bank such as business growth and development, system and software upgrades, impacts of future regulatory change.
The role holder will represent/deputise for the Country Controller at the Regulatory Reporting Oversight committee, board sub-committees and the Board.
The role holder will ensure accurate and timely reporting with appropriate execution and evidence of controls. Drive and support the team in enhancing automation of reporting and leveraging the digital toolkit.

The Regulatory reporting team is part of the Controllers team and works in partnership with the Finance, Treasury and Risk teams. In this role, you will:
- Ensure that the team ‘s daily, monthly and quarterly prudential returns are compiled in a controlled environment in compliance with the Regulatory rules
- Monitor, enhance and document procedures and appropriate supporting documentation associated with the compilation of returns;
- Monitor, identify and document risks and mitigation controls with regard to regulatory reporting processes in partnership with the controls lead
- Direct, supervise and oversee members of the Regulatory Reporting team to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all regulatory reporting.
- Act as an escalation point for the Regulatory Reporting team and provide appropriate guidance and direction on queries and day to day work
- Actively support the Country controller the performance management process for the Regulatory team by supporting performance reviews and delivering ongoing feedback
- Manage and develop team members at all levels of experience on the team:;
- Partner with the change team in the testing of new or upgraded systems and software;
- Lead the BAU team in updating procedures and documentation to support technology and regulatory changes;
- Partner with the Data controller to identify, capture and address data capture challenges;
- Assist with investigating queries from Regulators, external auditors, internal audit etc.;
- Prepare, review and/or verify accuracy of variances
- Understand all the products types and their associated accounting treatment
- Keep up to date with Regulatory developments and rules
- Engage with stakeholders to support wider WFBI deliverables.
Required Qualifications :
- Experience in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting, Risk Reporting, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Proven experience of leading, managing and developing a team of experienced accounting professionals a requirement;
- Extensive experience in a Regulatory / Financial reporting team Qualified accountant ACA or ACCA or equivalent, honours university graduate;
- SME in a wide range of financial products and technical expertise in regulatory report reporting processes
- Ability to demonstrate a wider experienced based appreciation of the challenges involved in maintaining and enhancing regulatory reporting capability and in particular knowledge of the appropriate risk control framework considerations;
- Previous experience in implementing regulatory change at a large institution;
- Highly skilled communicator, both written and verbal, and comfortable communicating at Board, senior leadership and Regulator level;
- Demonstrated capacity for working with minimal direction to deliver desired results;
- Knowledge and experience with IFRS desirable;
- Excellent skills with excel, including pivots, lookups and preferably macros;
- Knowledge of FRS Global desirable;
- Strong attention to detail is a prerequisite;
- Prioritisation skills important;
- Honesty and integrity are a prerequisite
