The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

​The successful candidate will be responsible for growing Wells Fargo’s physical natural gas desk by originating, trading, and managing transactions involving natural gas, with a geographic focus on North America.  Generally, transactions will involve commodity supply, working capital, and hedging solutions for Wells Fargo’s customers.  Examples of common transaction structures include park and loans, term-supply transactions, prepays, intermediations, and asset management agreements.  This team-member will work closely with Wells Fargo’s banking partners, as well as legal, credit, market risk, and other members of the trading and structuring teams to manage the origination and management of these transactions, including risk management, modeling, and obtaining customer flow through deal origination. 

Wells Fargo is one of the largest domestic lenders to upstream, midstream, and downstream markets for natural gas, so the depth of potential opportunities with current customers is extensive.

This position reports into the Markets Division of the Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), which transacts in traded products, such as foreign exchange, rates, commodities, and equities.  

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of physical natural gas trading and/or marketing experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals

  • Experience with trading physical commodities within the financial services industry

  • A master's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics

  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills

  • Strong financial background in capital markets

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Pay Range:

  • Base pay range for this position is 275,000.00 - 275,000.00 USD

  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Pay Range

$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
