In this role, you will:
- Partner with subject matter professionals to understand business needs as it relates to procedures
- Create, edit and format moderately complex to complex internal manuals, materials, or other documentation related procedures and policies
- Review and edit material authored by others
- Publish moderately complex web content in accordance to standards
- Lead or participate in developing documentation or document publishing strategy, policy and guidelines
- Complete quality control assessments of the work performed by team
- Recommend and document business procedures and best practices, identifying process gaps and offering alternatives
- Serve as team lead or escalation point
- Provide guidance to less experienced technical writers
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Consult and make recommendations to business partners on optimization of procedures.
- Engage with business partners on large scale procedure publishing initiatives. Complete an engagement charter, assess team capacity and assign work. Track work within internal tools and processes.
- Review regulatory changes or partner with regulatory change agents to proactively identify required updates
- Maintain document library or repository and update tables in appropriate systems
- Review changes to business operations for potential impact to other documentation or resources
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Utilize independent judgment to guide moderate risk deliverables
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Procedure Writing, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Procedure Writing experience. Intermediate knowledge of Open Text and other web based content management
- Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
- Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
- Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
- Experience researching, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures and documents
