About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in the Digital Technology and Innovation line of business. Our primary focus is to create Digital portal and enhance improve the digital onboarding experience for customers, both existing and new to bank customers. We also develop and host portal for internal Wells Fargo team members to help with day to day processes and gain operational efficiency. The lead software engineer's responsibility will range from delivering production level code, debugging of issues, mentoring junior developers in the team, working with product owners and interfacing teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable and modular front-end architectures using React and Micro-Frontend technologies.

  • Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices.

  • Architect and develop Micro-Frontend solutions to enable independently deployable front-end modules.

  • Guide the team in adopting a Micro-Frontend strategy, including integration and inter-module communication.

  • Serve as the primary expert on React, guiding the team in leveraging React features and best practices to build robust, reusable components and applications.

  • Partner with product managers and backend engineers to deliver cohesive, high-quality web applications. Ensure seamless integration of Micro-Frontend modules with backend services and APIs.

  • Set the technical direction for front-end and Micro-Frontend development, mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Implement Observability standards to get application performance insights.

  • Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and continuous integration.

  • Lead code reviews and implement best practices for automated testing.

  • Mentor junior and senior engineers, providing guidance on best practices in React and Micro-Frontend development.

  • Lead large-scale front-end projects from concept to completion, managing timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, systems, and processes. Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering solutions in a fast-paced environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of React experience including React hooks, context API, component lifecycle management and ES6+

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing MFE architecture using frameworks such as Webpack module federation

  • 5+ years of experience and proficiency in Web technologies like Java Script, TypeScript, CSS(3), HTML(5) and front-end frameworks

  • 4+ years experience, knowledge and understanding of test driven application development


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Agile experience

  • 3 + years of JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) development experience

  • 5+ years experience with SDLC tools and processes including GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, Maven or Gradle

  • Experience in building cloud native applications (PCF,AZUR,AWS)

  • Knowledge of BDD

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences

  • Experience with Kafka
