About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist for the Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations team within the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations organization.


In this role, you will:

  • Monitor, input, and process cash related transactions, customer service, project support, funding operations, settlement services, trade reconciliation, researching inquiries, reviewing time sensitive and/or complex documents as well as work to resolve payment or trade related issue

  • Review SWIFT messages ensuring all required information such as settlement instructions are provided by remitter.

  • Assist leadership in bringing individual or teams together to resolve complex issues

  • Provide subject matter expertise on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives

  • Review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide the deliverable

  • May provide training or work direction to junior level staff.

  • Provide back-up for other desks.

  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Works under minimal supervision

Foreign Exchange Operations is responsible for providing support for Foreign Exchange trades in multiple spaces (institutional, corporate, retail) which includes customer service (internal and external), affirmation of trades with client via multiple channels, monitoring and inputting of settlements of FX payments, project support, funding operations, reconciliation of accounts, trades and ledgers, servicing FX trades, working to resolve issues with trades and systems and ensuring timely settlements and processing of FX transactions. These roles could be aligned to any of the following workgroups:

  • Resolutions

  • Settlements

  • Investigations

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Financial Services experience with specific focus on operations, business processing, risk mitigation, issue resolution (process efficiency)

  • Foreign Exchange experience aligned to wire operations and/or investigations, settlements, and QA

  • Root cause analysis in relation to process improvement

  • Risk management experience within the scope of day-to-day management of allocated cases and acceptable tolerances

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to work independently, proactively, innovatively, and creatively while exercising sound judgment

  • Demonstrate ability to consistently meet/exceed stated goals and objectives

  • Ability to work under pressure
