Program Overview:
Commercial Banking provides credit, treasury management, and corporate and investment banking solutions to businesses with sales generally greater than $25 million. The Commercial Banking Early Career Development Program is a two-year program focused on gaining exposure to Commercial Banking through an initial phase of business rotations (first year) followed by an immersive experience in a single business (second year). The program will promote professional development and business skills acquisition through on-the-job experience as well as formal in-person and virtual training, including a foundational introduction to credit and banking fundamentals.
In the Commercial Banking Early Career Development Program, you will:
Rotate across several Commercial Banking business areas to acquire diverse experiences and insights as well as determine the roles that align to your career interests. You may be involved in sales, credit, product, or strategic activities such as:
- Participating in the sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and execution of low complexity multi-million-dollar credit transactions as an active member of the deal team.
- Conducting due diligence, analyzing financial statements, building financial models, and determining risk ratings to prepare comprehensive memos that support credit recommendations.
- Leveraging market, industry, and company research and analysis along with product knowledge to ensure the success of business development efforts.
- Receiving direction from supervisor and exercising independent judgment and accountability while working with diverse teams on a variety of tasks, including compliance and risk management responsibilities.
- Collaborating and consulting with colleagues and managers to complete deliverables, resolve issues, and help deliver business initiatives, communications, and other materials to internal stakeholders and clients.
Program structure:
- Phase one - Rotations:
You will begin your program in one of our ten regional locations. Following the foundational training, you will enter the rotational phase consisting of a multi-month experience in select business areas over the course of a year. All rotations will occur within your assigned regional location.
- Phase two - Immersive Experience:
In the second year, you will be matched with a team that aligns to your skills and interests for a more in-depth experience. This team may be within your regional location or if outside, will involve a virtual work arrangement or the option to relocate.
Post program:
The Commercial Banking Early Career Development Program is designed to promote a long-term career at Wells Fargo through broad exposure to the business and its career paths as well as professional and technical development. After successfully completing the program, analysts will be prepared for a multitude of roles, including Relationship Manager, Business Development Officer, Portfolio Manager, Business Execution Consultant, Commercial Banking Syndication Associate, Credit Product Sales Specialist, Credit Product Portfolio Specialist, and others.

Required Qualifications, US:
- 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2024 or May/June 2025. All majors welcome.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change driven environment.
- Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities through one or more of the following: volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), non-profit involvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge, interest and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
