Lead Business Execution Consultant

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant with a strong understanding of financial reporting governance and controls to join our Governance and Oversight team as a subject matter expert (SME). The Governance and Oversight team has enterprise-wide exposure to key stakeholders within the financial reporting infrastructure and is a component of the Enterprise Controls & Oversight group that reports to the Corporate Controller.  This role will be governance & oversight subject matter expert with emphasis on financial and regulatory reporting subject to COSO-based policies and will lead oversight responsibilities in complex subject matter/control areas. 

In this role, you will

  • Provide meaningful assessments of current financial and regulatory reporting control environment

  • Develop/govern/oversee COSO-based internal controls policies

  • Maintain industry leading financial/regulatory reporting governance and proactive monitoring of internal control related matters

  • Monitor new and emerging AICPA/PCAOB/SEC guidance and standards; assist in group-wide stakeholder training

  • Provide SME consultation for process/control related matters, including control deficiency severity evaluation and related remediation efforts

  • Act as change agent to provide process/control support/thought leadership in EC&O sponsored projects

  • Interface with regulators, external auditors and other stakeholders on control related matters

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting or Business Operations experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, reporting or business/technology audit or equivalent in work/training/military/education

  • BS/BA degree or higher in one or combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Analytics or Reporting

  • Financial services industry experience

  • MBA, CPA or CISA certification and big four public accounting experience

  • Experience in governance and oversight requirements in regulatory reporting

  • Strong project management/communication skills with internal/external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment, work within a team to identify/resolve problems and lead/coordinate improvement processes and systems
