Digital Product Management Director - Data Centers

About this role:  Wells Fargo is seeing a Digital Product Management Director for our Data Center domain.  This leader will be responsible for establishing and implementing the Data Center product strategy and methodology.  Will build and lead team of 10-15+ product owners and product analysts.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and develop two or more specialized teams of managers and digital professional individual contributors with focus on supporting the development and execution of digital strategy within a large business line or functional area for cross-functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcomes

  • Identify opportunities and strategies for programs and initiatives with impact across the business line and may have enterprise-wide impact

  • Lead the team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables like content strategy/creation, customer experience, analytics/research or product management

  • Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk

  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in aligned department or business group

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defines and articulates the product vision and strategy in alignment with organizational goals while managing risk and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.

  • Establishes, communicates and monitors product goals and performance indicators.

  • Builds a deep understanding of the customer through regular and direct interaction in service of delivering them value.

  • Engages customers and stakeholders to inform decision making throughout the product lifecycle to improve the customer experience.

  • Partners across the organization to develop a product strategy and go-to-market approach, conduct product discovery, and prioritize and deliver product features.

  • Works collaboratively with product team to define the product objectives and key results linked to strategic plans.

  • Engages in industry, technology, and customer ecosystem research and discovery to effectively identify, anticipate, and monitor market and customer challenges, needs, and trends.

  • Maintains continuous and cadenced communication with product owners to ensure they understand the product vision, timelines, and prioritization and are executing on the vision established for the product.

  • Enables the removal of impediments to achieve the customer and business outcomes for the product.

  • Manages the corporate investment by allocating the product budget to appropriately address priorities and maximize value.

  • Serves as the product representative to enterprise governance and policies (Enterprise Change Management, Software Delivery Lifecycle, Legal Risk Control Compliance, etc.).

  • Identifies and resolves sequencing and prioritization conflicts across products.

  • Ensures the product vision and strategy incorporate a holistic product approach towards sustainability, quality, scalability, etc.

  • Demonstrates continuous growth in understanding customer, product, and organizational needs.​

  • Acts as a senior ambassador for the product organization, and seamlessly communicates at a senior level with other executives and leaders across the company on behalf Technology Infrastructure (TI) transformation.

  • Centralizes and coordinates efforts across the product and engineering teams to drive consistency in both response, and content/messaging.

  • Builds and maintains the Data Center Management Product costing model.

  • Owns P&L for all Data Center Management Product Areas; managing volume drivers and unit costs for a transparent Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) view.

  • Leads workforce management across the Product team that includes strategic planning, recruiting, talent management, and performance management.

  • Leads efforts to define/manage required business plans (i.e. draft proposals and plans), and supports related initiatives across the Data Center Management teams; including analyzing and identifying opportunities for efficiencies and innovation across internal processes and the tools to support.

  • Leverages experience to bring industry leading standards, practices, and tools to the organization.

  • Passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – embraces change and welcome open and frequent communication.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in managing, operating, and providing solutions in a data center organization for an enterprise level organization.

  • Domain experience with IT Platforms (Compute/Storage/Mainframe), network platforms, key 3rd party datacenter hosting vendors/industry trends, infrastructure cabling, and x86 break fix vendors.

  • Expert knowledge of P&L management data center cost drivers, financial analysis, and business case development.

  • Expert knowledge of decisioning key contract considerations and SLA definition metrics in executing 3rd party data center hosting projects.

  • Data center migration experience in evaluating timelines, financial and operational risks associated with large scale data center migrations.

  • Experience in construction, development, and IT fit out of an enterprise data center.

  • Detailed understanding of x86 and cabling P&L management, contractual pricing considerations.

  • Experience in backlog development (e.g., prioritization and grooming, writing stories).

  • Experience participating in Agile practices and frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, etc.).

  • Experience with Agile workflow and collaboration tools, such as Confluence, Jira and Jira Align.

  • Ability to be onsite in a technology approved location at least three days a week.
