About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Algorithmic Trader to join our eFX Systematic Market Making (SMM) Trading team.  This role will focus on engineering and managing strategies that exist within a larger, low-latency framework, performing extensive customer pricing analysis, and microstructure quantitative research across eFX products. Research will involve discovery of revenue generating strategies leveraging data-driven and ML techniques, analysis of new alpha signal generators, and performing strategy back-testing.  Candidate will have the exciting opportunity to be directly involved in a focal growth area within the franchise.

In this role, you will:

  • Have extensive experience in designing, developing, and managing profitable systematic market making algorithms in FX products. 

  • Work closely with FX E-Platform team, FX and Rates trading desks, and E-Trading technology teams to assist with the continual design, development, and risk management of systematic liquidity-servicing strategies for FX products

  • Be responsible for research, risk management, and accretive revenue production of algorithmic trading strategies focusing on liquidity provision, internalization, and exhaust optimizations in FX products

  • Partner with E-Platform teams, voice trading desks, quant teams, and E-Trading technology teams to manage the development, lifecycle, and monitoring of algorithmic trading strategies

  • Partner with Institutional Sales and FX trading teams to grow franchise and target customer base

  • Be responsible for interfacing with support groups on model governance, model validation, ET governance, and algorithmic trading strategy KPIs

  • Work with technology and data teams to enhance current trading data analytics framework

  • Be experienced in the operational duties of an eFX market making book and liaising with support partners. 

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Securities Algorithmic Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in managing electronic market making risk books in FX

  • Degree in financial engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, econometrics or other quantitative science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years in algorithmic/quantitative/options trading role at a major sell-side firm or PTF

  • Proven track record in building profitable, high sharpe liquidity servicing strategies

  • Strong knowledge in advanced time-series analysis, predictive modeling, alpha research

  • Proficiency in leveraging machine learning algorithms within a markets environment

  • Experience with advanced portfolio and parameter optimization methods

  • Strong understanding of Big Data, Data Analytics, and Data Science

  • Proficient in statistical programing languages: R/Matlab/Python

  • Advanced knowledge of Java / C++

  • Experience utilizing CEP technology

Job Expectations:

  • Up to 10% travel

  • **Due to a city-wide mandate in New York City, all individuals who perform in-person work or interact with the public during business must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  At this time, this position falls under the scope of this mandate. **

  • Base pay range for this position in New York is 275,000.00 - 275,000.00 USD

  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Pay Range

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00 Annual
