This investment will add important new capabilities and features both for self-directed and automated investing and provide new fully native mobile experiences. About our team:

The WIMT Digital team manages, develops and supports customer facing brokerage systems. It has approximately 170 engineers globally between the US and India. Our main development centers in the US are in New York, Charlotte (NC) and St. Louis (MO). You should expect to spend three days a week collaborating with your team in the office on a flexible schedule. Our engineers are a mixture of full stack, front end and back-end service experts, who take advantage of the firm’s commitment to ongoing professional development through a wide range of resources. We have a separate first line support team that allows engineers to focus on their objectives. Our strong partnership with our business and co-ownership of work through the Agile product operating model means that there are plenty of opportunities for you to work directly with our business partners and further your understanding of the business.

About this role:

Wells Fargo's Digital team is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead the Framework Technology team. This leader will be responsible for architecting, designing and implementing strategic capabilities to modernize and scale legacy platforms within the digital space. They will play a critical role in shaping the product definition, design, roadmap, and development of the current and new products. The team promotes modern engineering best practices intended to improve quality and improve time to market. Key skills include solutions architecture, domain driven design, test driven design and experience building and deploying, mission critical microservices in Tanzu/PCF or a public cloud environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology.

  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meeting non-functional requirements with each release.

  • Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture, for example, cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy.

  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards.

  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement.

  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed.

  • Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk.

  • Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices.

  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers.

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering.

  • Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to have the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for product areas and products to meet business objectives and strategy, as well as conduct performance management for engineers and managers.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • 3+ years of Management experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Solutions Architecture, Domain Driven Design and decomposing monolithic systems.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience Strategic Planning and Roadmap Creation

  • Experience Building and Deploying Mission Critical Microservices in Tanzu/PCF or a public cloud environment.

  • Familiarity with J2EE on Websphere

  • Experience with JIRA Align and JIRA

  • Ability to create design documentation that can convey complex technical solutions into understandable business terminology.

  • Experience as a Product Owner

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work in the office 3 days per week at one of the locations listed on the posting.

Pay Range:

  • New York City, NY- Pay Range: $144,000 - $300,000 annual base salary.

  • Salary range is determined by location of the job.
