About the Team: We are the Control Management function supporting Corporate Risk (or) Independent Risk Management — to develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk. Responsible for Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies, Control Governance & Reporting, and Control Programs thereby manage risks according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
About the Role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist. The primary role of Senior Control Management Specialist is to support the Corporate Risk Control Management (CRCM) group, to:
- identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations that will enable the Sr. leadership to make informed business decisions
- providing guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of moderately complex business-specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
- consults and provides support in the interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs
- provides risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes and controls that mitigate risks and help address regulatory requirements
In this role, you will:
- Support the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Chief Risk Officer (CRO) organization in Corporate Risk to meet the BCM goals and control coverage requirements. The job involves interacting with the business group managers, onshore/offshore partners to understand and analyze the processes, identify risks and controls in the processes, evaluate the controls, End to End Issue Management, support Business and publish various reports to stakeholders
- Should have sound understanding of risk management principles and will be responsible for ensuring appropriate control coverage is provided for the assigned business group, be a strong partner for business group to identify risk, control gaps and help to remediate any issues.
- Drive & facilitate end-end RCSA execution requirements for Corporate Risk processes in alignment to the program expectations
- Identify, assess, and mitigate deficient controls / control gaps or risks identified for the processes supported globally and ensure timely update, reporting and escalation of issues, as required
- Partners with BG/EF to facilitate issues partners throughout the issue lifecycle including Root cause identification, Corrective action development and RCSA alignment.
- Experience in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls; additional experience analyzing business and/or systems changes to determine impact.
- Responsible to assist for control forums and provide necessary reporting for the assigned business group which includes report & escalate issues, key risks, control gaps, corrective actions, OREs and align them to the respective onshore Risk and Control Committees.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Business or related discipline.
- Experience of minimum 5+ years in Risk Management domain and Risk Programs, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics, Issue Management, and governance
- Strong knowledge of the Operational Risk Framework and disciplines primarily in the Banking industry and its related operations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear, concise manner. Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation
- Strong time management skills and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Must have demonstrated strong technical writing skills including the proven ability to clearly document activities, processes and test results
- Experience with developing and creating documentation for support and training activities
- Critical thinking and Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong comprehension/ability to learn technology tools, communication & analytical skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization
- Build, consult & maintain strong working relationships with inter-departments & stakeholders
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, opportunities to streamline business processes, and implement change
- Proficiency with MS office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS-Visio
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and be adaptable to changing work priorities
Desired Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of overall experience with a minimum of 5+ years in the Compliance, Operational Risk Management, Risk Assessment, Global delivery model etc.
- Experience in Banking or Multinational Financial Institutions
- Experience of working across one or more geographic territories or regions
- Professional Risk Certifications if any.
