Real Estate Data Governance Leader

This position will lead real estate data governance activities for Corporate Properties Group. This is a hands-on role that will require the candidate to be comfortable interacting and operating with real estate data at a detailed level to improve data quality and implement enhanced data controls. The candidate must also be skilled at working collaboratively with CPG leadership and enterprise data management teams to negotiate, influence, prioritize and meet business objectives 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead data governance activities for Wells Fargo’s Corporate Properties Group (CPG) 

  • With partnership of other enterprise data governance groups, implement and monitor data governance processes and controls ensuring alignment to enterprise data and records policies and industry common practices, including retention, privacy, defect identification and resolution, quality measurements, and data delivery models 

  • Enhance and operate CPG’s data governance program ensuring data of high quality and integrity can be delivered to enterprise partners including HR, Technology, Corporate Security, Enterprise Mail Services, and others 

  • Collaborate with other business partner groups, such as CPG Process & Governance, Technology, and Information Security to enhance data quality, security, and privacy controls and remediate related data issues to improve real estate data quality & reduce operational risk 

  • Monitor data governance compliance and performance metrics, and create reports for senior management and stakeholders 

  • Utilize thorough knowledge of Corporate Real Estate or other enterprise support function to support and drive strategic initiatives for the business 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Have prior real estate data domain and/or data governance experience 

  • Welcome operating and interacting with data at a detailed level to dissect SQL statements and job steps, lead data quality issues remediation and implement enhanced controls

  • Have strong relationship management, influencing, vision, and execution skills 

  • Partner effectively across CPG’s functional areas and with enterprise partners to successfully transform CPG’s data practices and governance 

Required Qualifications   

  • 7+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications  

  • Advance experience in data modelling, data strategy and data governance  

  • Experience in Corporate Real Estate practice and procedures

  • Proven experience in data governance and data management preferably in a large-scale real estate organization or other shared service organization 

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). 

  • Familiarity with data management tools, data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage solutions 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead, present, and obtain buy in from large stakeholder groups spanning staff through senior and executive management 

  • Have prior real estate data domain and/or data governance experience 

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Intermediate Alteryx skills and SQL  

  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional CDMP certification.
