Department Overview:
The Data & Analytics team’s mission in Cybersecurity Defense and Monitoring is to improve Wells Fargo's security posture by providing ongoing monitoring of selected information security controls so there is appropriate awareness to control effectiveness and trends, and to support the coordination and prioritization of remediation activities:
 
• Provide assurance that our controls are current, implemented as designed, and operating as intended
• Deliver quality monitoring and actionable reporting services that provide clear visibility of our security health for infrastructure related security controls
• Increase awareness to control gaps and weaknesses, and support ongoing remediation

About the Role:
We have an excellent opportunity for an Lead Information Security Engineer who would be working within Data and Analytics team.  The person selected for this position will work in a team that performs Security Compliance monitoring process for various OS platforms, Network device configuration compliance reporting, Data loss prevention, reviews and recommends policies and control standards. Provides security consulting and project management services on highly complex information security projects and issues.
 
This Lead Information Security Engineer role will lead the planning, analysis, design,  implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. Handles and leads various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases; leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts; developing management policies, procedures and standards; and business requirements identification, analysis and development. Provides mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities.
 
Responsibilities

  • Lead database design discussions with the technical team and interface with Production DBA teams, architecture, Scrum Master, QA, BSA, Product and supporting teams to create efficient and consistent solutions.
  • Assure successful sprint and release planning following agile development methodology.
  • Design and develop moderately complex databases to meet performance and overall solution functional needs.
  • Provide support to our DBA operations team and our application teams.
  • Assist operations team in database installations, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and on-call after hours and weekend support if needed.
  • Partner with senior engineers to develop DB standards and design new systems and procedures to make efficient use of available resources.
  • Provide support and guidance to developers with database SQL and tuning and optimization.
  • Provide primary problem management support by receiving, troubleshooting, and solving the daily problems reported by internal customers.
  • Create and maintain complete documentation necessary for all systems and procedures.
  • Assist with implementing more advanced database modules and features (e.g. replication, clustering, partitioning, etc.
  • Serve as DBA support for production, disaster recovery and non-production environments, including new database server installation and configurations, minor/major upgrades, system certifications, and implementations.
     

    Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or information systems
  • 10+ years’ database design, development and administration experience in SQL
  • 6 + years of experience supporting or designing complex ETL jobs using SSIS(SQL Server Integration Services)
  • 4+ years in the implementation of Data quality checks, business rules, sanity checks
  • 3+ Experience in Hadoop development (Hive & HBASE)
  • Expertise in Spark and Python programming
  • Experience in writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning
  • Performed ad-hoc requests for data manipulations, imports, exports, and updates
  • Designed and developed SQL stored procedures to automate various workflows and/or optimize application performance
  • Experience on advanced performance enhancement techniques to optimize large, complicated SQL statements
  • Experience in perform design, programming and testing of systems Interact with internal clients to develop database solutions that meet business requirements
  • Experience creating complex queries and creating stored procedures/functions/triggers
  • Led internal projects to support development and closely work with implementation support groups
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a variety of contacts including mid-level managers
  • Experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning code within the database like stored procedures, views, triggers, partitioned objects, table relationships and hierarchies
  • Experience in writing optimized queries, views and triggers for integration with other applications
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Preferred knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms
