About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director [Head of Engineering Enablement - Application Support & Critical Infrastructure Operations] for Cloud Operations.

In This role:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Provide technical leadership for the Cloud Operations teams either via direct line or through dotted line influence
  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate to high complexity and risk in Technology Operations
  • Lead Service Operations support for public and private cloud.
  • Regularly interact with senior managers and leaders concerning business process impact during large incidents

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Software/System Operations Engineers and be directly responsible for uptime.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Own and improve operational processes for example Incident Management, Change Management, Release Management, post-mortems, RCAs and others
  • Support & identify training requirements for the operations team
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Cloud Operations Managers to maintain consistent policies, processes and metrics across cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with Cloud Product Management by providing Operations’ perspective to drive improvement to the product and services with a focus on availability, reliability, scalability etc.
  • Participate in backlog grooming and influence Engineering’s roadmap priorities
  • Maintain consistency of cloud environments through efficient release management process
  • Point of contact for escalation Management as necessary coordinating with Engineering
  • Define KPI’s and reports which help provide transparency and affect positive change for operational areas
  • Drive continual improvement through strategic and thoughtful solutions with an automation first attitude
  • Build strong observability and monitoring capabilities in partnership with Engineering
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualification:

  • Lead Cloud Operations for an ‘Always ON’ Production management
  • Drive Site Reliability Engineering Culture within the team
  • Complex situation management capabilities
