Wells Fargo is seeking a System Operations Manager – File Transfer Operations

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a seasoned team of individual contributors, responsible for file transfer systems and infrastructure support and automation to meet organization goals. 
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Middleware Operations functional area
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within File Transfer Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
  • Ensure the engineering and operations teams are working lock step with each other.
  • Own and sponsor projects/efforts to benefit the organization (Cost, Risk, Speed to name a few)
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners like other platform dev and engineering plans for file transfer systems.
  • Ensure the Information Technology infrastructure is always functioning as effectively as possible
  • Oversee Information Technology infrastructure across multiple locations
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Infrastructure Engineers to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding infrastructure to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Infrastructure Engineering
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
  • Work with the networking and software engineering groups
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of working in complex File Transfer systems, ensuring 99.99% availability.
  • 10+ years of experience on File Transfer Systems - SAFET, Axway, NDMS, Secure Doc Delivery, Connect:Direct
  • 10+ years of strong Production Support Experience – SLA, SLI, Incident/Problem Management
  • Strong Automation Experience – Python scripting, Ansible, Terraform
  • Knowledge on developing Grafana & Splunk telemetry will be an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of SSL Certificate experience – Renewals of IIS and Linux certificates, CA upgrades, Root certificates and corresponding automation of the same
  • 5+ years of leadership and people management experience in leading a team size of > 30
  • 4+ years of Configuration Management & Automation: Ansible, Terraform – Creation of playbooks, Operation management, deployment, and governance in production environments for file transfer products.
  • 4+ years working closely with Middleware/File Transfer engineers, application architects, application development teams, and infrastructure hosting teams.
  • 4+ years of Unix/Linux operating system administration with shell scripting proficiency
  • 4+ years of accomplishment in meeting or exceeding metrics/quotas/KPIs and receiving positive customer feedback.
  • Understanding of the software life cycle and implementation process
  • Experience with ServiceNow/JIRA or similar customer and issue tracking system
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues clearly and concisely to a general audience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and activities simultaneously, ensuring the correct priorities are assigned and initiatives are completed within resource constraints.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of scripting and task automation (Python, JSON, YAML)
  • 2+ years of Ansible playbook development
  • 4+ years of network, compute, database infrastructure, IT operations
  • Advanced knowledge of technical/business environment and problem determination strategies
  • REST API development
  • GIT usage, CICD build/pipeline (Enterprise Pipeline) management

Job Expectations:

The selected candidate will be a diligent and passionate leader on CTO’s Foundational Hosting Operations team, responsible for the operational delivery of Middleware/File Transfer technology at Wells Fargo. The ideal candidate for this role will be an accomplished operational leader and a strong advocate for the customer who embodies the spirt of issue ownership through resolution. Along with other team members, this leader will be responsible to create a compelling and scalable service management experience for customers of the Middleware product portfolio.
