About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Operational Risk Specialist.

This role will be under Business-aligned oversight teams part of Independent Risk Management team is focused on oversight. The mission of each of team is to strengthen operational risk management efforts in the front line by aggregating, challenging, driving consistency, and overseeing all operational risks manifested by the business and its operations. 
 
The business-aligned oversight teams have responsibility for providing independent perspective and challenge to senior business leadership through engagement in key front-line governance routines, such as strategic planning sessions, committees, and business reviews. They are accountable for continuously reviewing and challenging operational risk management routines and priorities in the front line and serve as the primary point of contact for the front lines to escalate operational risk issues.

In this role, you will:
To oversee and independently assess the Front Line's execution of its risk management responsibilities and Front Line risk decisions.

Additionally, responsible for aggregating risks and identifying trends across the organization and provides senior management with an independent perspective on the level of risk to which the Company is exposed  across all Business Groups & Enterprise Functions.
 
Required Qualifications:
 

  • 4+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


 
Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) 
  • Industry certifications from ISACA or IIA.org preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Experience in Internal Audit and External Audit
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to draw conclusions and translate findings from complex data
  • Experience gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while prioritizing work and balancing multiple priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organization levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and creative problem solving techniques
  • Experience in reporting and Insights
