About this role:
This position will be responsible for designing and executing the external and internal communications strategy for all matters pertaining to labor relations including collective bargaining. This position will set communications strategy in alignment with the subject matter experts across the company including Legal, HR, Consumer, Small and Business Banking, and others. Alongside the Head of Labor Relations Communications, the ideal candidate will manage media relations activities pertaining to labor relations and Wells Fargo to foster engagement, drive business results and enhance Wells Fargo’s reputation. This position will office in Charlotte, NC or Dallas ,TX or Minneapolis, MN or St. Louis, MO or Tempe, AZ or West Des Moines, IA and does not offer relocation assistance.
In this role you will
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic counselor for senior leadership for matters related to labor relations.
- Support implementation of an annual communications strategy, in partnership with other communications teams across the enterprise, to ensure alignment of communications strategies and messages.
- Pitch and respond to reporters from key national print, newswire, radio and broadcast media outlets
- Serve as a spokesperson for media inquiries or prepare suitable subject matter experts to respond
- Managing proactive and reactive media inquiries pertaining to labor relations, and supporting other external communicators respond to matters involving labor relations.
- Identify executive advocacy, external speaking and/or social media opportunities.
- Write and edit speeches, talking points, social media submissions and content for target audiences.
- Collaborate with peers on the team and with the labor relations cross functional team from a media relations standpoint.
- Track and measure results to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing integrated communications strategies and plans
- Experience with proactive and reactive media relations
- Experience communicating with a unionized and non-unionized workforce, and familiarity with U.S. labor law
- Experience securing broadcast and print media opportunities with national or trade media outlets
- Experience prepping executives for high profile media interviews or speaking engagements
- Experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for storytelling
- Experience building strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations
- Experience presenting information that persuades, and enhances understanding at all levels
