About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant.

Individual contributor role with experience in credit risk analytics domain, primarily with Credit Cards and Loan products. Individual in this role will support development and implementation of data framework that is designed to manage and triangulate the complexity among processes, strategies, and workflows. Provide analytics to help improve Collections efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations. Perform analysis and reporting to support management decision-making and strategic objectives with quantitative approaches.

The role is linked to Collections Decisioning team which is part of the Credit Risk Transformation Team that supports model and strategy implementation on Power-Curve, helps drive Collection and Recovery risk management decisioning including calling intensity optimization and channel feasibility and perform UAT and postproduction validation support for new product launch.

The ideal candidate will be able to partner with the US team and India team to identify opportunities to optimize the existing process and work to identify collections strategy decision testing and implementation through analyzing data, report and recommend business insights. Additionally, should be able to determine business requirements for complex analysis, which will identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to business performance and process as well as identify and monitor risk.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives related to business analysis and modeling, including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as key participant in data aggregation, monitoring, and reporting of stress testing and portfolio analysis for Risk Analytics.

  • Review and analyze complex programing models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to businesses supported.

  • Manage the roll out of pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models for supported businesses and product line.

  • Make decisions in complex product strategies, data modeling, and risk exposure, requiring solid understanding of business unit projects and regulatory responses, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead Analytic and Reporting to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, less experienced to more experienced managers, to resolve production, project, and regulatory issues, and achieve risk analysts, and common modeling goals.

  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understand different SOR systems and data flow architecture that populates data into risk DataMart's.

  • Basic knowledge of credit risk strategies and score cards.

  • Understanding of decision implementation platforms like PowerCurve, Zoot or FICO DMP.

  • Credit Card, Personal Loan collection strategies testing, deployment in PowerCurve, FICO platform to perform analysis and reporting to support management decision-making and strategic objectives with quantitative approaches.

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to assure timely monitoring of process efficacy and accuracy, minimizing credit/operating losses and reputation/ compliance risk exposure. 

  • Work collaboratively and effectively with technical partners, business partners and strategy experts to implement strategies, segmentation models and new technologies/tools.

  • Deep dive into data and identify cause for variation in trends of key delinquency metrics in reports/dashboard/DataMart. Develop and maintain monthly reports, analyze and highlight any data anomaly.

  • Provide analytics to help improve Collections efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations for designing, testing, evaluating, implementing, measuring, monitoring and managing collection strategies using SAS, UNIX, PowerCurve, FICO based tools

  • Collaborate with various credit and product groups and external vendors to develop effective ways to manage new account decisions, leveraging best practices and new data/tools;  

  • Provide technical guidance and analytical direction to other analysts and directly work with partners, responsible for identifying and defining business requirements and translating business needs into moderately complex analyses and solutions. Lead implementation of complex initiatives with moderate to high risk for the line of business.

  • Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies. Data involved may be very large, structured and from multiple sources.

  • Present results and recommendations to senior management. Develop robust and consistent reporting and monitoring capability to track Collections and Recovery performance

  • Be a senior member within the team, responsible for mentoring junior members and being able to work independently.

  • Be a team and technical lead for the team and provide thought leadership on the projects, driving new ideas and identify opportunities.

  • Post graduation degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, technology, mathematics, econometrics, or computer sciences

  • Experience in credit risk or collection strategy implementation role with hands on experience working on Credit Cards and Loans products for US market, requires strong domain knowledge on Credit Cards and Loans

  • Develop test cases for validating new models/strategies or changes and perform postproduction validations.

  • Prior experience with development of test scripts using SAS/SQL to perform User acceptance testing as per the test plan.

  • Experience with advanced SAS, SQL and working experience with databases like Teradata, Oracle

  • Prior experience with development of robust and consistent reporting and monitoring capability to track Collections and Recovery performance.

  • 5+ years of credit risk experience in consumer/unsecured lending in collection strategy implementation, and drive Collection and Recovery risk management decisioning including calling intensity optimization and channel feasibility.

  • Strong experience in Enterprise data ware house databases like –Teradata, SQL Server and DB2

  • Ability to design and structure complex data & data architecture framework and analytical reporting, financial valuation, and forecasting. The candidate should be able to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment. Detail oriented, results driven, and could navigate in a quickly changing and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment having ability to lead project teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders

  • Operates with a sense of urgency, particularly towards deadlines, audit, and deliverables.

  • Shift Timings: 1:30 to 10:30 PM.

  • Knowledge and understanding of credit card lending practices, policies, and procedures, ability to learn the business aspects quickly, multitask and prioritize between projects.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation, communication & presentation skills with high degree of reliability, integrity and trustworthiness and should contribute to strategic decisions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
