Senior Systems Architect - Network (Cloud & Datacenter)

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Architect for the Technology Infrastructure Architecture team to support the Network POD as the L2 architect for Hybrid Cloud and Data Center networks.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead in component architecture and participate in enterprise architecture activity

  • Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy

  • Develop and maintain business system and corporate architectures

  • Review and research complex technology and system assessments for component architecture

  • Support implementation of moderate to complex projects and initiatives

  • Produce project architecture designs

  • Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices

  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and capabilities in order to prepare and respond to customer needs and expectations

  • Provide in-depth technical and systems consultation to internal clients and technical management to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Systems Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of SDDC and Datacenter fabric technologies

  • Working knowledge of Private, Public and Hybrid cloud connectivity

  • Understanding of MS Azure and Google GCP cloud networking basics

  • Understanding of Cloud concepts such as SaaS, IaaS and PaaS

  • Demonstrated working technical knowledge of WAN network/telecommunications technologies

  • Experience with IP Routing and Data Center/LAN switching, including IGP and EGP protocols, OSPF, BGP etc.

  • Understanding of telecommunication technologies such as TDM, OPTICAL-DWDM, MPLS and Ethernet

  • Experience with network protocol/service such as DNS/DHCP, Load Balancing, IP Addressing, QoS, etc.

  • Understanding of BGP-EVPN and VXLAN

  • Understanding of Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI)

  • Ability to evaluate and assess new technologies

  • A strong commitment to customer experience, quality service, products, and architecture artifacts

  • Experience creating MS PowerPoint and Visio documents

  • Basic knowledge of financial services industry.
