About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist in Commercial Banking. The Commercial Banking Control Programs Team is responsible for monitoring the implementation and execution of various risk programs including providing support to the lines of business.  This support may include risk and control guidance, job aid development, reporting and data analytics. This group also provides feedback to corporate on risk policies and procedures In this role, you will:

  • Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controls
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Provide guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Wells Fargo risk systems such as Shared Risk Platform (SHRP), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), or Control Risk Analysis System (CRAS+)
  • Knowledge of control design and documentation, including internal control policy and control design and documentation methodology.
  • Regulatory Control knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including: control testing, risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
  • Knowledge and experience with Risk Control Self-Assessment activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of Risk and Control Self-Assessment concepts
  • Knowledge and understanding of audit, regulatory compliance, or risk management
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications    
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills     
  • Ability to track and monitor project progress, identify project and process gaps, recommend controls and communicate progress to business leaders 

Job Expectations:

Role responsibilities may include:  

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with control and business process owner by consulting and providing expertise in the control design to effectively mitigate and evaluate risk and controls, including design of effective means of measurement.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program and supporting projects related to shared controls, control procedures and regulatory compliance alignment.
  • Identify gaps and areas of improvement in existing processes and recommends improvements.
  • Support a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business.
