Credit Risk Senior Manager - Personal Lending High Risk, Collections & Recovery Management

Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk Senior Manager to manage collections risk strategies across Personal Lending. This role will report to the Head of High Risk, Collections and Recovery Risk.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop team of individual contributors in roles with high complexity and risk.

  • Develop and implement collection strategies to ensure timely recovery of overdue accounts.

  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, providing regular reports to senior management on collections activities and performance metrics.

  • Ensure the collections process is compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Effectively work on a high diverse team who are geographically dispersed across multiple time zones located in the US, India, and Philippines.

  • Influence across all organizational levels or functions.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as credit and customer service, to improve the overall customer experience and resolve customer disputes.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as regulators and external debt collection agencies, to enhance collections performance.

  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the collections process.

  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with initiatives that cross multiple lines of business in scope with significant impact and risk.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development to drive the company credit culture, desire, and business performance.

  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Credit Risk team to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables.

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for level of risk taken in credit activities with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility.

  • Lead strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required.

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Credit Oversight.

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 6+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • 3+ years of management experience.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Seasoned risk professional with an understanding of various risk types (compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management).

  • End to end unsecured credit risk experience.

  • SAS programming experience.

  • Experience with statistical modeling techniques.

  • Experience owning and modifying credit risk strategies, preferably default/collections.

  • Outstanding quantitative and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent understanding of economics and line of business key drivers of profit.

  • Innovative problem solver.

  • Ability to manage decision development and decision analysis.

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Results drive approach to work.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management and methodology for identification and controls across all risk types.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong educational credentials with an M.B.A. or Master’s degree preferred.

Pay Range

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
