About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in implementing network security policies across routers and firewalls
  • Manage production networks including Internet Protocol backbone, data centers and edge pops across the globe
  • Ensure the continuous availability of all data network services
  • Identify gaps, risks and issues and navigate organizational structure to resolve them
  • Perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure proper functioning and reliability of the network
  • Investigate and remediate network capacity related issues
  • Apply knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
  • Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis
  • Deliver comprehensive and maintenance plans for change management review and approval
  • Mentor and train network operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams in order to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence

Required Qualifications, :

  • 5+ years of Network security and Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven history of analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office suite and reporting experience
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence / Analytics tools (Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with Firewall tools
  • Familiarity with monitoring /alarming tools (Splunk or Application Dynamics
  • Prior experience in Cyber, Risk framework and Risk related support preferred

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to collaborate with both network security engineers and auditors to report on security risks & ways to mitigate them.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices, in regard to firewalls, routing, and intrusion detection.
  • Knowledge of common network security issues with TCP applications, such as SMTP, HTTP versus HTTPS.
  • Ability to compare firewall implementation requests with Access Control Lists implemented on devices.
  • Knowledge of network industry change requests standards
  • Knowledge of firewall management products, such as, but not limited to, Cisco Configuration Manager, Palo Alto Panorama, and Checkpoint SmartConsole.
  • Ability to communicate issues discovered during auditing of network change requests, and ways to mitigate the risks discovered.
  • Working knowledge of:
    ○ Splunk logging reporting
    ○ SharePoint scripting
    ○ Cloud computing (Specifically, Google and Microsoft) and associated security risks.
