Corporate Risk

As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management (IRM) — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Risk Analytics Consultant within the Consumer Lending Operational Risk Team (CL ORBO Team). This position will be responsible for conducting data-driven analysis insights across various areas such as Risk & Control Environment, Issue Management, Operational Risk Events etc., understand concentration of high risks and provide actionable insights to mitigate the risks in a timely manner.

The person hired in this role will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and collaborate with internal Operational Risk Management teams and Font Line to influence and facilitate effective decision making to mitigate operational risks.    

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Analytics, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Overall 15+ years of experience with around 8+ years in similar analytics roles
  • 5+ years of experience using SQL within a variety of database sources such as SAS, Oracle, Teradata, etc.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with SAS
  • Knowledge of Banking and financial in Consumer lending (Home, Auto, PVSI, Non-Lending, Small Business and Personal Lines), Deposit Product Group, Card Retails and Merchant Services, investment solution and commercial banking is preferable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational risk management in the financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and stakeholder management

What you will do in this role:

  • Lead team in creating various monthly reports that are presented to Sr. Management.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and process for the business through conceptualizing, developing and deploying advanced analytical solutions in a high performing environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to assure timely monitoring of strategy efficacy and accuracy, minimizing credit/operating losses and reputation/compliance risk exposure
  • Drives the discovery of new risk segmentation attributes and recommending value-added and practical solutions for risk management strategy enhancements via sound statistical methods by effectively mining rich and complex data sources.
  • Design, develop and manage an efficient interaction model for this multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent delivery across the functional teams. Develop the necessary structure to manage the growing needs of the business while increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the teams.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for transformation of data into actionable information that drives business outcomes, strategies, and risk control development
  • Communicate effectively with Sr. Management and stakeholders across all areas of the organization.
