Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Storage File & Object

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer in the Storage Engineering team within the Storage Engineering function of Wells Fargo’s Technology line of business.

  • This team provides Storage (NAS /File and Object) solutions to meet the needs of our stakeholders.
  • As part of this team, you will work closely with architecture to assess new solutions, certify releases and make recommendations on go-forward strategies in the file and object storage space.  You will also work closely with operational support, providing guidance and Level 2 support as needed.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
  • Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
  • Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
  • Drive solutions to reduce recovery
  • Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Design complex system upgrades
  • Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
  • Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 8+ years of experience in a NAS, SAN and/or backup environment
  • 5+ years of experience with object storage software and systems such as Hitachi, NetApp.
  • 6+ years of experience with file storage software and systems such as NetApp, Oracle
  • 5+ years of Experience in Scripting such as Python and PowerShell,



Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Designing File and Object Storage Engineering solutions.
  • Advanced scripting skills specifically around automation in Ansible/Python/PowerShell
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering such as Windows /VMware/Linux, Database (SQL/Oracle), Networking and Firewall.
  • Ability to help remediate tough technical support issues.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team on multiple overlapping projects.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Customer focused, service-oriented attitude
  • Proven skills analyzing and trouble-shooting complex systems configurations
  • Agile experience
  • Risk management and mitigation experience
