Lead Systems Operations Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking highly skilled candidates to provide expert platform support for the Consumer Technology (CT) division, specifically focusing on the Customer Relationship View (CRV) platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership
   - Lead and manage a team of senior engineers dedicated to supporting the CRV platform.
   - Identify skill gaps within the team and develop targeted training programs to address them.
   - Coach and mentor team members to achieve technical objectives and meet their year-end performance goals.

2. Production Support
   - Oversee second-level production support, including triage, diagnostics, impact analysis, and resolution of production incidents.
   - Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, such as enhanced logging, proactive monitoring, and resilient automation practices.

3. Change and Release Management
   - Ensure a structured approach to change and release management, including thorough review, risk assessment, conflict resolution, and obtaining necessary approvals.

4. Partner and Vendor Relations
   - Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with vendors, line of business partners, development teams, and other support teams across the enterprise.

5. Process Improvement
   - Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation.
   - Enhance system and infrastructure monitoring to ensure maximum availability, performance, and stability of the CRV platform.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
  • Manage and cultivate relationship with development partners, Product Team, and other support organizations.
  • Provide timely communication on enhancement/break-fix/release/maintenance changes, production incidents, and organizational initiatives.
  • Coach and lead mid-to-senior level systems operation engineers
  • Manage engagement/meetings with developers, product team members, architects/principal/distinguished engineers, and other systems operation/support engineers


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ Team Lead experience
  • 2+ Salesforce development or equivalent support experience


Required Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Salesforce certification
  • Azure/Google or equivalent Cloud certification
  • Intermediate Splunk/Grafana reporting and dashboarding experience
  • JAVA development experience
  • Kafka, Flink, or other equivalent Microservice experience
  • Oracle/Mongo DB/YugabyteDB/REDIS and equivalent Cluster/Cloud DB technology experience
  • Intermediate Log and data analytics experience
  • Intermediate Change and Incident Management experience


Job Expectations:

  • Schedule and participate in release/maintenance deployment and post install monitoring
  • Lead Major Incident diagnostic, impact analysis, customer mitigation/remediation, and work with development to create long term solutions.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$96,600.00 - $206,100.00
