Lead Product Designer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Designer. This role will lead design initiatives that create exceptional digital experiences for our clients; all in deep collaboration with other multi-disciplinary designers, Product Management and Engineering. The Lead Product Designer also partners across the broader Experience Design team to ensure a smooth, coherent end-to-end experience. Success comes from understanding client and business needs, partnering effectively, simplifying complexity, crafting elegance, and producing code-ready design assets. In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
  • Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
  • Be accountable for overseeing the execution of design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
  • Review and analyze complex industry leading user interface design solutions that require the evaluation of multiple factors
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Serve as design advocate with the ability to forecast and assess industry trends and their impact on the company's product design alternatives
  • Build and enhance working relationships within the information and interface design function and community outside of the company
  • Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
  • Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations and participate in roadmap planning and virtual teams
  • Make decisions in customer experience strategy for platforms and products requiring understanding of the function and compliance requirements
  • Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Actively contributing 80% of their time to improve design outcomes


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Hands on experience designing UX and UI in Figma
  • 2+ years experience working in an agile environment, with distributed teams and agile delivery tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience driving design through the full product development cycle (discovery, concepts, prototypes, specs)
  • Consistently articulate a strong design rationale
  • Experience managing creative design efforts in a complex environment
  • Ability to work with cross functional partners in research to initiate studies and implement findings within projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: managing projects from beginning to end; that vary in scope and complexity
  • Strong presentation skills to senior leadership

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work on-site at approved location at least three days a week

Pay Range for New York, NY & San Francisco Bay Area: $115,-900-206,100

Pay Range

$115,900.00 - $206,100.00
