Data Management & Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.
DMI Data Services Operations (DSO) supports the implementation of the enterprise data strategy and transformation of the companywide data environment through disciplined management of DMI’s business operations. DMI Administration designs and deploys processes to streamline core operations, coordinates cross-DMI and Wells Fargo enterprise initiatives, implements financial controls and other “gating” tools, and provides a broad range of shared services that can be leveraged across the entire DMI organization (e.g., communications, SharePoint, third-party support, risk management coordination, vendor management, etc.). Finally, DMI DSO Team partners closely with corporate staff functions to deliver on compliance and process requirements.
The Data Management Manager is responsible to administer and maintain JIRA environments post-implementation; suggest and implement optimizations based on user expectations. Investigate issues with notifications, workflow, permissions etc. Perform system and application management activities, such as scheduling jobs, backing up data, recurring maintenance actions. As a manager use knowledge of architecture to oversee a variety of activities.
In this role, you will:
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide project teams
- Must have strong experience (SME) in JIRA, Confluence, Groovy/Python scripting, Linux, Script Runner.
- In-depth knowledge of Jira Software, JSM and Confluence administration, configuration, and customizations.
- Experience in building and supporting integrations built on REST services(Jira Java and REST APIs)
- Experience in building the dashboards, reports from Jira (Rich Filter Dashboards, Structures, Roadmaps / Plans)
- Analyze and assess the existing instances, including data structure, workflows, and configurations, to determine the best approach in solutioning / designing the project in Jira.
- Assess current workflows and processes in existing projects, and performing a gap analysis of requirements needed for successful implementation of Jira projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams developers, analysts, stakeholders, project managers, system administrators, and end-users, to understand the specific requirements and objectives of the consolidation.
- Strong ability to communicate technical ideas and defend rationale for technical decisions, collaborate with developers, QE, DevOps, and user experience to manage the overall Jira Platform.
- Configure and customize the unified Jira and Confluence instance to align with the organization's needs, including setting up project templates, custom fields, workflows, permissions, and notifications.
- Develop and implement a strategy to validate the data, workflows, and configurations in the unified instance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges during the project development end to end process, working closely with technical teams and vendors if necessary.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Jira Platform, Jira plug-ins and application.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Document the process, including configurations, customizations, and best practices, to ensure knowledge transfer and future reference.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues during the consolidation process.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with other project management and collaboration tools/ M365/ Power Platforms is a plus.
- Certifications in Jira and Confluence administration are preferred.
- Experience in/with SQL/any database
- Identify and recommend opportunities for the development of audits and controls structured.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
- Track progress, monitor activities, and generate reports to help optimize project processes and workflows
- Understand project risks and assigning team members to specific tasks
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operational execution for data governance, data quality
- Direct team in developing solutions, tools and processes used to maintain a common companywide data quality, control standards and data sourcing
- Process Improvement: Drive design and implementation of process improvements across DMI to increase efficiencies in operational processes, reduce risk through standardized approaches, and drive continuous improvement as a DMI discipline (e.g. through the development of metrics to monitor overall performance of DMI communications, etc.)
- Special Projects: Responsible for assessment, prioritization and triage (or direct execution) of special priorities and needs that arise during the course of any year (e.g. ad hoc analyses conducted to support DMI-wide objectives, coordination of executive off-sites/DMI-wide town halls/external industry events, etc.)
- Serve as single point of contact for escalations on low to moderate complexity issues.
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
- Facilitate required meetings and steps with delivery team to complete templates
- Work with Leadership team and understand business priorities and plan accordingly
- Adhere to data governance standards and procedures
- Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Experience in working on Projects in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Ability to work independently building collaborative workgroups and influence others
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in one or a combination of: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
- 5+ years’ strong experience (SME) in JIRA Architect, Confluence, Groovy/Python scripting, Linux, Script Runner
- 5+ years’ experience in managing team along with the performance reviews
- Experience in working on Projects in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
