About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director
In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
- Partner with experienced product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop product functional and technical strategies and drive strategic outcomes for the line of business product portfolio
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of business line product portfolio teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables, providing expertise and thought leadership in the portfolio domain
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
- Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
- Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to line of business strategic priorities
- Support financial forecast and budget development
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 10+ years of Management experience
- 8+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
- Strong experience and exposure to Microservices technologies and Azure / PCF cloud

Job Expectations:
The role will lead all aspects (transformation, product development, product discovery, application ownership) of the customer journey. As a leader, you will be responsible for the vision, strategy, roadmap and support of the entire product portfolio to improve availability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include the following:
- Drive the efficiency, productivity and delivery of critical business capabilities with a focus on software, engineering guidelines, leadership, architecture, practice and tools.
- Collaborate with Home lending product line managers and product owners to establish target state product roadmaps and oversee execution in accordance with priorities. Participate in product cabinet meetings and setting up of execution priorities.
- Drive progress toward business’ key objectives, striving for stretch and moonshot achievements. Responsible for all Transformation related business and technology OKRs.
- Develop business and technology relationships reflected by an increase of Net Promoter Scores.
- Collaborate with peer Consumer Technology sub-group Technology Directors to define technology vision and develop Application roadmaps for Home lending, getting buy-in from tech and business decision makers
- Ensure Risk & Compliance for processes and applications including on time execution of Preventative Actions, Security Section plans, Vulnerability remediation and technology compliance initiatives.
- Lead the team with integrity and create an environment where employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
- Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
