About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Manager.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including establishing marketing programs for new products or enhancements

  • Conduct market research and market results-oriented analysis for major products and services

  • Review and analyze complex major product lines and services

  • Implement change delivery solutions for the portfolio's technology process work of low to moderate complexity

  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations of global market dynamics, trends, and regulatory impact

  • Oversee risk management to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with managers, stakeholders, scrum masters, project managers, and delivery team to resolve issues and achieve project goals

  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a mentor to less experienced staff

As a Product Owner for the Consumer Lending business, you will bring a strategic mindset and passion for experimentation as you work closely with Product Managers and collaborate with a variety of agile delivery teams, partners, and stakeholders across the organization to employ product management and agile techniques to optimize products for our customers.  You will help drive the delivery of outcomes to the marketplace through ownership of the product backlog inclusive of prioritization, transparency into upcoming work, setting of product goals, and communication to support shared understanding.  

Responsibilities in this function include:

Employ a customer obsessed mindset and product management techniques to actively pursue customer engagement and a deep knowledge of customer behavior to act as their voice in discovery and product refinement 

Apply a working knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, in a multi-team environment to enable the realization of outcomes from discovery through delivery to the market

Orchestrate discovery practices, including testing and experimentation, to create a shared understanding of the technology domain, business strategy, and customer desire in the marketplace in partnership with design and engineering partners across cross-functional areas

Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to contribute to and influence overall product vision and roadmap to convey desired outcomes through the product backlog

Ability to exercise effective product backlog management including prioritization in alignment with OKRs to deliver the greatest value-based outcomes in alignment with overall product strategy and setting of the product goal

Attend key Agile events for the product area to connect product strategy to the team and provide subject matter expertise 

Entrusted to make decisions for their product area such as defining acceptance criteria, acceptance of stories and determining when the solution delivered will meet the definition of done to maximize value and iterative learnings from the team

Actively seek to utilize data mining and perform analysis to uncover data driven insights and support recommendations of necessary actions

Engage with cross-functional experts to ensure solutions are business ready from risk, legal, compliance, and policy perspectives

Ability to use empathy to understand customer and end user needs and translate into delivery themes

Skillful facilitation of high impact conversations with the ability to navigate conflict and negotiate for an outcome that balances the needs of the business .

Required Qualifications: 

5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with/within [a financial services organization, digital, etc; based on LOB specific needs for their product/product area]

Experience with product and backlog management in an environment using a scaled framework such as LeSS

Strong data analytics skills

Thorough knowledge of competitive markets, operations and various products and services

Other Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with human-centered design models

Experience with direct involvement in prototyping activities

Knowledge of software development workflow 

Background in leading through transformation
