In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant whose role will be to participate in a new data domain stewardship function for Market and Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM).

The MCRM Group is responsible for the measurement, reporting, monitoring and oversight of market and counterparty exposures for Wells Fargo.  The group is responsible for providing effective governance over activities that create market and counterparty credit risk, ensuring we have robust infrastructure to capture and report on exposures, and meeting a broad set of regulatory requirements for risk management, stress-testing and capital planning.  Within MCRM, the Market and Counterparty Capital team is responsible for the data, systems, models and controls for generating risk based capital calculations, executing stress testing exercises, generating regulatory reporting and providing certain risk data used in the Company’s financial reports.

The MCRM Data Governance team performs a critical function supporting Market and Counterparty Capital (MCC). The Data Governance team is creating a new function to build a team of data stewards in the India & Philippines to oversee data processes, data quality, and data completeness in support of capital regulations and within the new capital reporting strategic platform, Nexus.   The team coordinates with subject matter experts, process owners, control owners, model owners and report owners both within and external to MCRM to deliver and maintain data, aggregation, and governance capabilities supporting effective understanding and management of market risk.  A leader with technical background, market and counterparty risk experience, and data management capabilities is sought to define, build, and manage this team.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives related to business analysis and modeling, including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as key participant in data aggregation, monitoring, and reporting of stress testing and portfolio analysis for Risk Analytics
  • Review and analyze complex programing models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to businesses supported
  • Manage the roll out of pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models for supported businesses and product line
  • Make decisions in complex product strategies, data modeling, and risk exposure, requiring solid understanding of business unit projects and regulatory responses, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead Analytic and Reporting to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, less experienced to more experienced managers, to resolve production, project, and regulatory issues, and achieve risk analysts, and common modeling goals
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, and data management, with the ability to query and manipulate data
  • Stakeholder engagement and facilitation experience
  • Prior experience in program or change management
  • Risk management or regulatory reporting (CCAR, FRY-14, etc.) experience
  • Ability to execute tasks with limited direction
  • Report building experience with Excel/VBA or BI Tools (Tableau, SQL, QlikView, Power BI, etc.)


Job Expectations:

  • Candidate will be part of a multi-national team responsible for

  • Understanding full end-to-end navigation of complex data and data flows and processes
  • Identifying and resolving data flow issues by working with upstream data providers, downstream stakeholders, and technology partners
  • Stewardship owner of data and processes at domain-levels to ensure data completeness and accuracy
