About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) within the Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) team. We are seeking a senior engineer with capital markets domain knowledge specifically in risk disciplines such as Market and Counterparty Credit Risk to lead analysis, design, and development of risk platform enhancements aligned to the data strategy and as well as analyze and interpret the data modernization strategy to develop best-of-class data solutions. This senior engineer will also have experience working with large data platforms for operational and analytics use cases and experience working with senior stakeholders and working in a matrix environment with cross functional teams in an Agile environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives on selected domains

  • Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk

  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost

  • Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies

  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature

  • Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives

  • Mentor less experienced software engineers

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers

  • Lead team to achieve objectives

  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of Python experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • 5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services

  • 5+ years of Agile experience

  • 5+ years of derivatives experience

  • 5+ years of capital markets experience

  • 5+ years of change management experience

  • 5+ years of data analysis experience

  • 5+ years of data management experience

  • 5+ years of database experience

  • 5+ years of distributed servers platform experience

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and designing new solutions for application and database components

  • A BS/BA degree or higher


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience

  • 5+ years of distributed servers platform experience

  • 1+ year of experience with in-memory databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
