Are you a relationship builder? Would you enjoy an opportunity to learn how to advise customers about financing options relating to the purchase of a new home or refinancing of an existing home? When you join our Next Generation HMC Development Program as a Mortgage Sales Specialist you will be supported by a team in a local mortgage branch that will:

  • Guide you on a 13 month prescribed training program covering the Mortgage Sales Specialist role, organization, industry
  • Provide you with opportunities to increase your knowledge throughout the program, including knowledge-sharing events, professional learning and development options, and extensive online courses
  • Set you up for success by offering hands on experience, mentors, including assessment and knowledge checks to ensure you stay on track during the program.
  • Help you build on your military, classroom learning, work and life experiences to develop lifelong skills as a mortgage professional
  • Mortgage Sales Specialists who successfully complete the 13-month program will receive support to transition into a key Home Mortgage Consultant position

It’s all about you! The Mortgage Sales Specialist will be responsible for producing high quality residential mortgage loans from various established lead channels while maintaining Wells Fargo Home Mortgage guidelines. This will include developing relationships with additional lead sources in your local community including realtors, builders, financial professionals, and other nontraditional sources and providing consultation and excellent customer service.

Onboarding starts on June 26, 2017 and travel for training will be required July 17th-28th and October 30th-November 3rd

This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction.  As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.  Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below.



Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in one or a combination of the following: sales, customer service; or college education, military experience



Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations

  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary.
  • Ability to lift 20+ pounds

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
