Audit Services conducts audits and reports the results of our work to the Audit & Examinations Committee of the Board of Directors. We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, Audit Services helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Audit Services is separated into individual audit teams specializing in a line of business, risk type or coverage area.  These teams include:

  • Corporate Risk and Capital Management (CRCM), which is comprised of Operational Risk, Compliance Risk, Enterprise Risk, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Model Risk, Capital Adequacy, Basel, and Capital Regulatory Reporting teams.
  • Consumer Banking Audit Team (CBAT), supporting consumer businesses, payments, virtual solutions, and innovation. Also includes the Remediation Coverage Program, driving remediation activities across WFAS.
  • Enterprise Technology Audit Group (ETAG), supporting information technology and security across the company - for team members and customers.
  • Enterprise Functions, which is comprised Finance & Corporate Activities (FCA), supporting Resolution and Recovery Planning, Corporate Treasury, Accounting and Financial Reporting and Regulatory Reporting and Conduct and Sales Practices (CSP).
  • Financial Crimes Audit Team (FiCAT), supporting compliance for Bank Secrecy Act, Anti- Money Laundering, Fraud, and Global Anti-Corruption.
  • Shared Services Audit Team (SSAT), supporting cross-functional activities, including enterprise testing, data innovations, and data analytics.
  • Strategy & Operations (SAOG), provides operations, infrastructure, guidance, support, development, and strategy for all audit teams.
  • Strategic Execution & Operations Office Group (SEOG), developing the strategic direction and assessing line of business and enterprise control activities and governance. Wealth and Investment Management (WIM), supporting business lines supporting affluent advising, lending, fiduciary, and investment services.
  • Wholesale Banking (WHLS), supporting business lines supporting middle-market, corporate, and institutional businesses. 

We offer traditional audit roles on our various line of business teams and non-traditional roles that support teams through audit professional practices, coverage coordination, subject matter expertise, and methodology change groups. While audit skills are a primary need, teams also seek potential candidates who can demonstrate subject matter knowledge of Regulatory Compliance including BSA/AML, Basel, operational risk, data analytics, credit functions, stress testing, model risk, and Information Technology General Controls (ITGC).

Specific Duties:

The Audit Manager supervises integrated audit projects as directed by senior management generally for multiple projects or audit engagements and may also participate in audits generally as subject matter expert in a consulting capacity.

The Audit Manager:

  • Supervises or oversees multiple concurrent projects
  • Identifies and assesses key risks and controls and designs audit coverage across an auditable activity with limited guidance
  • Exhibits appropriate judgment regarding issue notification;
  • Communicates  findings to internal client (business partner) management
  • Drafts and communicates final audit report and is able to interact effectively with senior management 
  • Coaches and mentors auditors-in-charge and other staff regarding required knowledge and skills. 

Audit Managers demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge that includes technology, operational, financial, and regulatory understanding across multiple businesses and may develop knowledge in a critical subject matter area.  

They also may execute limited managerial duties under the direction and oversight of the Senior Audit Manager, including:

  • Manages defined audits within one or more segments of the Audit Plan.
  • Manages a team of audit staff.
  • Accountable for supervision and oversight of assigned audits.
  • Provides timely feedback, coaching and monitoring of audit work and staff.
  • Develops and maintains strong business relationships within WFAS and with teams across WF and other stakeholders.
  • Assists in planning and organizing work in an annual cycle, not just project cycle.
  • Ensures audit engagements are risk-based, and executed according to Wells Fargo Audit Services policies and guidance.

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

 



Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following audit or risk functions: covering risk identification, mitigation and management (includes audit, legal, operational risk, compliance risk, credit risk, market risk, technology risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for risk.)

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of audit methodologies and tools that support audit processes
  • Solid problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Experience at a financial institution or accounting firm
  • Understanding of financial regulatory environment
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Undertstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Certification in CIA
  • Specialization in areas such as Regulatory Compliance including BSA/AML, Basel, operational risk, data analytics, credit functions, stress testing, model risk, and Information Technology General Controls (ITGC). 
  • Leadership experience for professional auditors, risk management, or project leadership professionals


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
