Market Job Description


This is a strategic change role within the WFBI COO (Chief Operating Office) organization, in the Strategy and Business Enablement Division. The primary focus on the effective implementation of WFBI’s strategy, aligning with Wells Fargo EMEA’s Regional strategy and the evolution of the WF International legal entity structure.

The role will work closely with the Strategy Implementation Director in collaboration with Enterprise, Regional and WFBI executive leadership and functions, in the seamless execution of business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the WFBI Strategy Implementation Director in driving the execution and implementation of WFBI strategy, aligning with the requirements of a locally incorporated bank, WFC Group, International and Regional strategic plans
  • Drive workstreams associated with regulatory licensing opportunities and the migration of business amongst our EMEA legal entities
  • Partner with Lines Of Business and functions to build business cases which underpin our regional strategy and inform a regulatory licensing application
  • Provide challenge during the strategy development phase to ensure strategy is credible, relevant and robust, adhering to the principles and requirements of good governance
  • Articulate strategic proposals and develop execution plans for presentation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop upskilling/learning initiatives to assist broader team with business line and product familiarity
  • Monitor, track and report on the practical implementation of strategic initiatives. Material contribution to the preparation, review and reporting of strategic initiatives against agreed milestones and achievement of targets to executive forums.
  • Ensures the development of effective communication plans that addresses key internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Identify and call out emerging risks and potential roadblocks to successful implementation
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with all WFBI and Regional cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrate WFC’s Behavioural Expectations in every day duties
  • Foster an environment of ownership, accountability and teamwork
  • Work collaboratively with the team and across WFBI


Market Skills and Certifications


Skills/Experience Required:

  • Prior experience of interacting with the regulator
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk and operating frameworks, in addition to a strong commercial acumen
  • Clear understanding of banking and capital markets business and their funding, capital model, risks and processing requirements
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work collaboratively with a Team, either directly or indirectly by employing well-honed influencing skills across key support and LOB teams within a matrixed structure
  • Creative and open minded thinker who can apply new insights to drive innovative solutions to problems and create inclusive environment for cross-functional teams to be efficient and effective
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicting priorities or requests
  • Proven ability to use initiative and operate autonomously whilst knowing when to escalate to line manager
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management and forging strong, collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and recommendations in a clear and compelling way and adapt communication style to suit audience
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity
  • French or German language skills would be an advantage
