Market Job Description

The WFBI Compliance department forms part of the EMEA Compliance function which includes regulatory compliance and the management of regulator relationships. The Compliance Program incorporates the following activities:

  • Board and Senior Management Oversight

  • Risk Measurement

  • Risk Identification and Assessment

  • Regulatory Change Management

  • Policies, Procedures, and Related Controls

  • Compliance Reporting

  • Compliance Monitoring, Testing, and Assurance

  • Compliance Learning

  • Technology and Data Management

  • Business Process Risk Management

  • Third Party Service Provider Compliance Risk Management

  • Compliance Issue Management and Escalation

  • Complaint Management

  • New Business Initiatives and Product Management

  • Regulatory Relations

The position of compliance consultant is a wide-ranging role and the selected candidate may be involved in any of the activities of the compliance program as outlined above.

The candidate will assist the Compliance Manager in managing regulatory compliance risks for WFBI by participating in and providing compliance support for local and regional projects and initiatives and to identify, assess and mitigate regulatory risk in WFBI business activities.

Market Skills and Certifications


  • Perform horizon scanning when required and notify the relevant stakeholders of any new regulatory changes that may impact WFBI.

  • Update and maintain the WFBI Upstream Regulatory Log with all new regulatory changes that may impact WFBI.

  • Liaise with the EMEA Regulatory Development team who compile the EU Regulatory Tracker. Take part in any of the meetings regarding the EU Regulatory Tracker. Compile the WFBI Regulatory Tracker which will comprise of both EU and Irish new regulatory changes.

  • Circulate WFBI Regulatory Tracker to the WFBI Senior Management team.

  • Represent WFBI Compliance and assist WFBI Support Functions in local projects, initiatives and forums as requested by the Compliance Manager.

  • Actively engage and collaborate with EMEA compliance and participate in and provide compliance support in EMEA and US led projects and initiatives to help improve processes and procedures and to mitigate regulatory risk, ensuring compliance tasks and deliverables are being met/on track.

  • Assist in delivery of Compliance Training as required

  • Perform monitoring activities as required and outlined in the WFBI Compliance Monitoring Plan.

  • Actively engage in compliance team meetings and collaborate with EMEA compliance colleagues to ensure all regulatory compliance tasks and deliverables are being met/ on track

  • Provide support and advice to business and senior management on regulatory compliance queries

  • Escalate compliance issues to the Compliance Manager and where possible support in the resolution of all identified issues

  • Act as back up to the WFBI Compliance Manager when requested.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Strong compliance experience in financial services

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong people and presentational skills

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Good report writing skills

  • Strict attention to detail

  • A strong team player
