Enterprise Risk Manager

Main function of the job:
  • Responsible for the development and continued enhancement of a Risk Appetite Framework commensurate with the size, nature and complexity of the Bank.
  • Lead the annual review, analysis, monitoring and reporting of the Board-approved Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Manage the annual WFBI Material Risk Assessment process. Ensure the Risk Assessment process is robust and embedded in the organisation. Engage with the Office of the COO and WFBI Senior Management to ensure key governance documents e.g. RAS, Strategy and ICAAP are aligned.
  • Ensure reporting to Risk Committee and Board is robust, effective and facilitates informed decision making

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the development and continued enhancement of a Risk Appetite Framework commensurate with the size, nature and complexity of the Bank.
  • Lead the annual review, analysis, monitoring and reporting of the Board-approved Risk Appetite Statement. Lead cross functional project on the RAS (internal and external stakeholders) to ensure the bank’s Risk Appetite meets all local regulations, is in line with best practice and is supported by a comprehensive suite of Key Risk Indicators.
  • Present the Board approved Risk Appetite Statement to WFBI Senior Management and Board Committees.
  • Represent WFBI on any Wells Fargo/EMEA RAS projects and initiatives impacting the legal entity.
  • Manage the annual WFBI Material Risk Assessment process. Ensure risk assessment process is robust and embedded in the organisation. Engage with the Office of the COO and WFBI Senior Management to ensure key governance documents e.g. RAS, Strategy and ICAAP are aligned.
  • Lead project to enhance Board level risk dashboard reporting across WFBI’s key risk types. Influence WFBI Risk Owners and Senior Management to ensure reporting to Risk Committee and Board is robust, effective and facilitates informed decision making.
  • Responsible for production of quarterly Risk Appetite and Risk Assessment reporting and presenting of same to Risk Committee and Board.
  • Support the CRO in the preparation of the quarterly “CRO Report” to Risk Committee and Board to provide an overarching view of risks in the Bank.
  • Manage inventory of WFBI Risk policies. Ensure policies adhere to group policies whilst also meeting local requirements.
  • Responsible for the remediation of any Risk Operations audit findings (internal and external) in respect of the Risk Appetite Statement, Material Risk Assessment Process and reporting to Risk Committee and Board.

Skills/Experience Required:
 
  • Degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • Experience in a similar Risk Management role within a global organisation would be preferable.
  • Excellent relationship builder is essential.
  • Experience in designing, implementing & maintaining highly efficient processes.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to provide presentations and briefings to senior personnel.
  • Good interpersonal skills and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload from multiple sources.
  • Professional maturity and high energy level.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Ability to operate comfortably on a small team, but within a large, multicultural organization.
  • High level proficiency with advanced Excel and/or VBA, PowerPoint and Word.
