Market Job Description
Based in London, the successful candidate will join a four person Operations team servicing London Branch clients for International Trade Services (ITS / Trade Finance) products. This team is principally a kiosk for presentation and distribution of documents.
The team’s objective is to ensure customer satisfaction and rigorous risk management by providing consultative and operational support services in the delivery of a range of Trade Service products. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing Trade Services clients with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Duties include issuing, advising and amending of letters of credit, negotiation of L/C documents, processing documentary and direct collections, monitoring and accurately performing all necessary administrative tasks related to outstanding guarantees in accordance with Trade Services standards.
The role will also assist the Team Leader and Manager with training new staff or existing staff on new products or procedures, provide performance assessment on staff trainees, and coordinate and review workflow alongside the Team Leader and Manager. They will also be accountable for making recommendations to changes in existing policies, practices and procedures. Requires full working knowledge of complex L/C structure, documentation, governing rules, standard and regulations, internal policies, international and domestic bank operations and credit risk implications.
Responsibilities
include:- Provide subject matter expertise across the suite of ITS products and services
- Maintain very close co-ordination with overseas operations teams to ensure efficient end-to-end processing
- Direct interaction with clients in the course of processing their presentations and requests
- Partner with ITS line of business and other operations functions to evolve the operational model in support of business requirements
- Review and challenge operational metrics to ensure ongoing operational efficiency
- Review operational risk incidents for improvements to key controls and the overall risk profile of the team
