In this role, team members perform the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. You will also consult with and advise senior management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction, handling and leading various large scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases; leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts; developing management policies, procedures and standards; and business requirements identification, analysis and development.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leading complex projects.
  • Designing and certifying next generation of database technologies.
  • Maintaining compliance of all database management systems to include patching, security, data encryption and auditing.
  • Providing and implementing compliance policies and standards in order to maintain databases in conformance with corporate guidelines.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for production support of the enterprise's databases.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and follow escalation processes to minimize application impact.
  • Maintain replication and high availability solutions for the enterprise databases.
  • Perform database and SQL performance tuning. Develop best practices and promotes these standards across the team.
  • Provides mentoring, guidance, and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities.
  • May lead educational sessions on continuing basis within our EDM community

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of database (DB) technologies experience
  • 3+ years of Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations
  • 2+ years of experience working with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of experience in database design and administration



Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools
  • Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Knowledgeable in the programming or scripting language
  • Experience implementing new technologies
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Scripting and automation experience
  • Experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment

  • Experience with MongoDB
