Database Application Developer - MS SQL Server 2012

Job Description

Wells Fargo WLT/BBT development team has a need for a Senior Applications Engineer to write detailed scripts in MS SQL 2012 for the Athena/Blast application. Athena/Blast is a core Credit application that our bankers, underwriters and loan operations teams use to originate, underwrite, book and service loans. This application provides critical business and compliance functionalities. In addition to development responsibilities, this candidate will ensure we are able to meet software application requirements that enable our front room Sales bankers and back room Loan Operations team members to service our customers while adhering to the Bank’s Compliance and Risk Policies

 

The successful candidate must be able to partner with multiple business groups to complete specifications for complex business requirements. Develops, directs, and assists in the preparation of complex computer solutions in the maintenance and modification of new and currently used programs. Performs modeling, simulations, and analysis. Prepares program test data, tests and debugs programs.

 

In this role, the selected candidate will serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems. Interested candidates must be able/willing to provide rotational on-call/off-hours support.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in SQL, writing moderate to complex stored procedures for MS SQL 2012
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and/or developing against relational databases
  • 3+ years designing and implementing user interface functionality
  • Experience in C#, .Net, XML, MS SQL 2012,
  • Proven ability to write complex code including the planning of work from initiation through implementation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of technical and non-technical skills sets (i.e. Developers, Project Managers and external Customers)
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Source Safe
  • Exposure to Reporting Services or other reporting technologies
  • On call availability for production support.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse/data mart concepts
