Java Developer with Quality Assurance

Job Description

The Application Systems Engineer 4 position will be in integral part of the overall CORE team (CORE stands for Common Opportunities, Results and Experiences) within Enterprise Information Technology.  This is an exciting and challenging new opportunity working with the Automation Team within the CORE project.  This team member will have an opportunity to lead automation activities in across multiple environments and platforms.  This role will be assigned to lead Automation development activities that will directly relate to the CORE system, and be expected to perform development activities included, but not limited to the following listed below:

  • Play a key role in ongoing development and maintenance of the Automated Regression initiative
  • Play an integral part in day to day Automated Integration Testing Activities
  • Plan and strategize the automation approach to scripting and development of new tools as it pertains to new functionality and customer demands
  • Partner with both tech leads and business partners to improve existing tools and processes
  • Create scripts for execution during development, UAT, and Training cycles.
  • Maintain code in existing Automation scripts based upon ever changing code and requirement updates
  • Be responsible for individual coding task assignments as well assess impact to integrating that code
  • Troubleshoot complex coding issues     


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 3+ years of Java experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • C# experience
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • 3+ years of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: creation of test plans and test scenarios



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Selenium 2.0 Automation tool
  • QA exposure, understanding test cases and test execution against development deliverables
