Job Description:

Small Cap Value team based in NYC is looking to add a research analyst to cover financial sector, among other duties.  Successful candidate will be responsible for assigned overage and making buy, sell, hold recommendations according to institutional investment process with a goal of achieving outstanding relative performance.    

Conduct fundamental analysis of individual companies, focusing on business factors such as: financial performance, competitive industry placement, quality of company management, etc. Identifies potential data sources for statistical modeling. This approach also includes analysis of market sectors and market trends and may involve the use of quantitative screening tools. Developing the knowledge and skills necessary for investment analysis and research.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of investment research experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with research tools such as: FactSet, Bloomberg, and Barra
  • Equity markets experience
  • Good statistics and math skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Microsoft Excel experience designing and running macros
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 2 – 4 years buy/sell side small cap research experience
  • Experience in financial sector a plus
  • Must have passion for small cap value stocks and excellent communication skills
  • Must be self-directed
  • Must be able to read and understand financial statements
