Job Description

Wells Fargo's Corporate Asset-Liability Management Group is looking for a highly motivated individual with sharp analytical skills, proficiency in written communication, and experience in the areas of balance sheet reporting, forecasting, stress testing and economic analysis. 

The Asset-Liability Management Group performs a wide range of highly complex quantitative analysis of the company's balance sheet behavior and has a primary responsibility to measure its risk, including macroeconomic and idiosyncratic risks quantified through stress testing.  Team members are responsible for partnering with corporate and business unit subject matter experts to develop and challenge assumptions utilized in stress test projections, perform analysis of results, provide management with insight concerning the Company’s balance sheet risks, and contribute to the reporting and support of the Company’s stress testing results.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of Wells Fargo's balance sheet and add value to the Company’s stress testing practices while building partnerships across multiple work streams including corporate and business unit asset-liability management, finance, and credit teams.

Responsibilities for this position may include:

  • Review of risk scenario forecasts of balance sheet and net interest income for the consolidated company and its major business units, including active challenge and review of business unit forecast assumptions
  • Development and analysis of legal entity projections
  • Review of regulatory instructions and templates such as the FR Y-14A/DFAST schedules and supporting documentation
  • Creation and maintenance of tools and templates used for analysis and reporting, assessment of model performance through validation and back testing, development and coordination of asset liability-management model solutions and enhancements related to stress testing. 
  • Support of the group’s written deliverables including documentation of key modeling assumptions, challenge meeting minutes, procedures for key processes and controls, and narratives describing scenario results and model risks, limitations, and sensitivities
  • Enhancement of the governance structure surrounding the production, review and reporting of stress test projections, including responding to regulatory inquiries and ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidance and instructions pertaining to balance sheet and net interest income stress test projections
  • Support other Corporate Asset-Liability Management Group initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of asset liability management analysis experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience forecasting and analyzing net interest income & balance sheet behavior
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Superior quantitative, leadership and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to partner effectively and work collaboratively with fellow team members
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using QRM or similar asset liability management models/systems
  • Familiarity with Wells Fargo's general ledger and balance sheet/product offerings
  • Knowledge of regulatory reports including FR Y-9C, Call reports, FR Y-14 Q/A or DFAST
  • Proficiency in Hyperion Essbase, Access and VBA
  • Experience with model risk management best practices
