Market Job Description

The APAC Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Advisory Consultant reports to the Singapore Branch Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and, as appropriate, supports the regional FCRM team to ensure enterprise, group, business, or requirements related to the prevention, detection, and deterrence of financial crimes are met across the region.

  • Review customer due diligence escalations requiring subject matter expertise (e.g., anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, etc.);
  • Identify, analyze, and appropriately escalate financial crimes risk in broad areas of business activity;
  • Advise regional lines of business and support teams on financial crimes risks of transactions, projects, and business expansion;
  • Review suspicious activity referrals and perform STR filing to local authorities;
  • Review and maintain AML/CFT regulatory inventory and related controls;
  • Assist with testing, audit, and regulatory inquiries;
  • Providing training and communication to relevant parties;
  • Continuing the development of a risk-based financial crimes program to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Developing and producing appropriate financial crimes-related reporting for management;
  • Assisting with projects and initiatives in the financial crimes area, particularly in relation to emerging risks and control enhancements.

While role has a degree of regional coverage, role has no routine travel requirement (Singapore based).

Market Skills and Certifications

  • 6+ years of financial crimes experience in a financial institution, with solid understanding of AML/CFT requirements for various client types, lines of business, and products;
  • Sound knowledge of AML/CFT and other financial crimes laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Knowledge and appreciation of recent legal, regulatory, and industry developments in financial crimes;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective communication with stakeholders verbally or via written work product;
  • Excellent analytical skills, lateral thinking, and problem solving ability with high attention to detail;
  • Ability to independently prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment;
  • BS/BA degree, advanced degree considered a plus.
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or other similar designation considered a plus.
  • Experience with development of AML programs or testing/audit/regulatory inspection of such programs considered a plus.
