Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager, V in Middle Market Banking as part of the Northeast Credit Portfolio Management team. The role is based in our Toronto office.
In this role, you will:
Participate in performing financial research, underwriting, and structuring of highly complex banking within Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
Review and research business financial statements and tax returns that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
Resolve complex issues and lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Management team, to meet project deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals
Be accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals and annual reviews, coordination of pricing, and for revenue growth, and relationship profitability.
Work with clients directly to understand credit needs and represents the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships.
Mentor/coach a team of analysts or junior portfolio managers.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management and Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in underwriting/portfolio management in the "national accounts" space or commercial banking
Credit underwriting experience, including commercial and industrial, investor real estate or specialty industries
Experience negotiating credit structures, interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements
Knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services
Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirements
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
