About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Funding and Capital Liquidity (FCL) team within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIBT) organization. This role plays a critical part in building and enhancing metadata‑driven, scalable, and high‑performance data engineering platforms that support key financial risk, liquidity, and treasury processes across Corporate Treasury. You will work closely with technology, risk, and business partners to deliver robust data solutions that meet the highest standards of performance, resiliency, and regulatory compliance.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, React, or Python, with hands‑on experience in building distributed systems.
  • Solid experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience designing and operating data pipelines and frameworks for large‑scale, mission‑critical systems.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and regulated environment.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and production support models.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and guide technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • The candidate should have some experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, including different Generative AI models, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agentic frameworks and flows


Job Expectations:

  • Deliver high-quality engineering outcomes during Data Center exit migrations and DPC onboarding, ensuring validations, automation, and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high‑performance data solutions using Python, SQL, Spark and Autosys.
  • Provide insights, bring ideas, and best practices into the operating model and delivery
  • Actively engage in building technology and SME skills within the team
  • Accountability and ownership for work done out of the India team that this role leads.
