About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director level Project Finance Originator for Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking to sit within Energy & Power group to originate, structure and execute energy infrastructure transactions including thermal generation, micro-grid solutions for Data Centers, pipelines and LNG facilities.

Wells Fargo’s growing Project & Asset Finance business is an integral part of the Energy & Power (“E&P”) group, providing financing, capital markets and advisory services to corporate and infrastructure fund clients. Our coverage universe includes independent power producers, infrastructure / private equity funds and utilities globally. Wells Fargo's E&P business is a market-leading franchise in the sector, including top ranked positions in the equity and debt capital markets league tables.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead all aspects of client interaction: establish and maintain a regular dialogue, gain visibility on the clients’ objectives and business pipeline to identify opportunities early, provide advice and ideas, and recommend tailored financing solutions to address specific clients’ needs

  • Position the bank to win left lead mandates for complex syndicated project finance transactions where we play a leadership and active structuring role

  • Lead the execution teams and provide guidance and oversight to pitch, structure, and execute project financing transactions in coordination with Credit Risk Management

  • Coordinate the execution and distribution strategy together with Debt Capital Markets teams to ensure successful placement of financings

  • Coordinate interaction with other product partners within the bank (Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Rates, FX, Treasury Management, etc.)

  • Represent the bank and grow the franchise by developing relationships with clients, partners (consultants, attorneys) and peers at other banks

  • Serve as a mentor to others on the team


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Structured Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: new deal execution in thermal power, pipeline, LNG or renewables project finance

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • High level of initiative and accountability

  • Strong Excel skills (including project finance financial modelling) and intermediate Microsoft Office Word, and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience in creating and modifying project finance models

  • Knowledge of project finance credit agreements and structures

  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines

  • Ability to multitask and work on several assignment, time management and prioritization skills


Job Expectations:

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
